Most of the CZ rimfires come from production without Picatinny rail on it. That leaves the decision on how to mount a scope to your rifle to you, the buyer.
At that point you have two options in order to install riflescope to your CZ 457:
- you can buy CZ 457 dovetail scope rings that can be installed directly to the dovetail without anything else; or
- you can buy CZ 457 Picatinny rail and on top of it you can install any scope rings that use Picatinny interface [which there are many]
In this article I will show you the second option that uses Picatinny rail: I will show you how to install such Picatinny rail on your CZ 457.

How to install scope base on CZ 457
- Make sure you have an empty chamber.
- Loosen the grub screws on the scope base (picatinny rail) — the hex key size is 2 mm, or imperial 5/64 inch.
- Slide the scope base / rail on your rifle. If you got the aluminium scope base from CZ production, it will most probably go very easily without any force (larger tolerances). If you got the steel scope base from JK-N, lubricate the surfaces and you may need a little force — a few light hits with a rubber hammer usually make it work because steel bases have tighter tolerances.
- Once the base is in place, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque — values are listed in the product description of the purchased base / rail.
